IFS Vocal Coaching
Have you been taking voice lessons but the technique is putting you too much in your head?
You want to feel the joy, ease and freedom of singing like you did when you were a kid.
As a vocal coach with training in music therapy, I help you feel free and joyful while singing.
In sessions, we connect to your body and breath and work with any fears getting in the way. We incorporate silliness (for fun and because playfulness helps you learn!)
Singing is easy. It’s our minds that make it hard. Cultural messages about singing (ex: only talented people should do it) can create inhibitions in us. But contrary to Simon Cowell’s opinion, if you have a set of vocal cords and a love of music, you can learn to sing.
Singing is your birthright, not out of reach. Singing is a natural way to connect, express and soothe yourself. It’s a biological gift that has nothing to do with being worthy and it doesn’t require you to prove anything.
My approach is less about perfecting your sound and more about getting into a creative flow state. In the process, you can release stress, connect to your emotions and find your unique voice. It’s great to sound like yourself and hear your true voice reflected back. You might be surprised by your own range, power and beauty.
You might enjoy coaching with me if you:
Want to sing for fun and personal fulfillment
Are a perfectionist and want to shake things up
Want to feel relaxed and confident while singing
Want to channel your playful, spontaneous side
Have trained professionally but can’t get out of your own way
Want to learn to trust yourself, your body, and your creativity
Have a secret dream to rock it at karaoke
*My approach is not for people who are seeking professional performance training
Sessions incorporate:
IFS parts work: to resolve physical tension blocking your true voice
Mindfulness: to help you feel calm and enter a creative flow state
Gentle techniques: fun vocal exercises, breathing instruction, roleplay and movement
